Ron is the CEO of ADE. With over 40 years of experience in the real estate industry, he not only sets the vision of the company, but he trains staff, and consults and leads on the more complicated transactions.
Building ADE with a foundation of educating others on 1031 exchanges, Ron offers continuing education courses for professionals which include CPAs, attorneys, realtors, and investor groups. He is also a lecturer in academia at Georgia State University, Mercer Law School, Georgia Tech and Emory University’s graduate real estate programs.
Ron’s articles on various exchange topics have appeared in the CCIM Journal, the Georgia Society of CPAs’ Current Accounts, the Journal of Accountancy, Realtor Magazine and others.
Ron enjoys being a national expert in an area that is frequently misunderstood. He explains, “Over the last 30 years, we have developed successful strategies that comply with the tax rules and still work in the real world. This allows me to help clients orchestrate transactions that maximize the benefit of their 1031.”
Ron is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology. He also holds a CCIM (Certified Exchange Specialist) designation.
When not working, Ron may be on the golf course, playing pickleball, taking a walk or riding a bike, in a yoga studio or lost in meditation. He also enjoys traveling and spending time with his adult children and has no plans for retirement.
Malinda Owensby, is the Chief of Staff for Atlanta Deferred Exchange, Inc. She has been with the company since 2018. As the Chief of Staff, Malinda plans and directs all administrative, financial, and operational activities for the President, Ronald Raitz. She organizes and prioritizes critical issues and required information to facilitate efficient decision making to ensure the smooth operation of the company.
Prior to Atlanta Deferred Exchange, Malinda was a value-driven paralegal with experience successfully supporting and managing the caseloads of multiple attorneys. Her skills include efficiently navigating the management of client deadlines, communication among parties, witness scheduling and document filings.
A native of Decatur, Georgia and a current resident of Smyrna, Georgia, Malinda holds a degree in Paralegal Studies (College of Professional Studies), and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Kaplan University.
Malinda has a daughter, son, and an amazing daughter in law. She is a huge sports fan, so when she’s not traveling to visit her family, you can find her at the Atlanta Braves or Carolina Panthers games.
Mary Wiggins attended the University of West Georgia where she received her degree in Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate in 2006. Although life led her in a different direction from real estate, she has always kept an interest for it. Her background includes over 20 years of accounting experience. She’s worked for small companies, aided in starting companies, and helped grow companies. She was thrilled when she was chosen to become part of the Atlanta Deferred Exchange team and she could finally begin a journey in the real estate field. Mary and her husband live in a small city South of Carrollton, GA called Ephesus. She spends most of her time cheering on her three children playing the sports that they love. She is also an avid Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldog fan. When not at the ball field, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and three dogs.
Denise Anderson is a native to Atlanta for over 28 years. Denise graduated from Georgia State University with her bachelor’s degree in Sociology. While in college, Denise began working in the banking industry and dedicated her summers as an intern at a mortgage lending company in Alpharetta, Georgia. At that time, she realized her enjoyment for working with buyers and helping them experience the joy of homeownership that she went on to become a Mortgage Processor and worked in the industry for over 5 years. She went on to further her love for real estate by obtaining her real estate license in 2018. Throughout her years as a Real Estate agent, she has been helping both buyer and seller clients across Georgia. Denise joined Atlanta Deferred Exchange in 2020 as an Exchange Consultant and is passionate about people and what she does. She enjoys helping assist her clients take advantage of the 1031 internal revenue code. Denise resides in Mableton where she lives with her partner and adorable toy poodle named, Beau. In her spare time, you can find Denise spending time with her family, friends and immersed in the fine arts. She enjoys visiting Museums local and afar, attending the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and continuing to foster her passion of Metalsmithing.
Stephanie Bolton was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In 1999, she obtained her real estate license prior to enrolling at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. During school, she represented land sales for a golf community as an onsite agent. In December of 2005 Stephanie obtained her bachelor of arts degree in political science; however, it was her experience at a large real estate firm in Knoxville that inspired Stephanie to pursue residential real estate. Stephanie moved to Atlanta in 2012 joining Harry Norman Realtors. She was an onsite agent responsible for representing the sales of high rise luxury condos for three well known Buckhead complexes. Stephanie joined Atlanta Deferred Exchange as an exchange counselor in 2022. With much experience and passion Stephanie is dedicated to providing her clients with an unforgettable, enjoyable experience complete with extraordinary service. When she isn’t working, Stephanie calls Woodstock home, where she lives with her two daughters Adeline and Ellanor. Her favorite hobbies are hiking, fly fishing and biking the BeltLine. She attributes her passion for volunteering to her home, The Volunteer State, as she consistently jumps at the chance to give her time and resources to others around her.
Shaan Hawkins is a North Georgia native, being born and raised in the small town of Chatsworth, GA just east of Dalton. She began working for a real estate attorney while still in high school, and quickly developed the skill of providing exceptional assistance to her clients. After high school she graduated from Dalton State College and pursued a career as a Paralegal with a local law firm until 2013. She later attended Western Governor University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. Shaan joined Atlanta Deferred Exchange as an exchange counselor in 2018 where she has quickly applied her paralegal experience to the 1031 sector and continued her passion to serve her clients. She specializes in complex transactions such as reverse, construction, and construction leasehold, and is always happy to share her knowledge with her clients. Shaan now lives in Kennesaw with her husband, Jeremy, and their two daughters, Emma and Lily. When she is not assisting her clients with maximizing their 1031 benefits, you can find her at the softball fields cheering on her daughters, reading a book, or relaxing at the beach.
Rebecca Paterson is originally from the Chicagoland area and attended Purdue University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Shortly after graduating she bought her first investment property which formed her passion and love with real estate. Rebecca received her real estate license in 2013 and went on to obtain her broker’s license in 2016 assisting others with their real estate needs. In 2017, her and her family, relocated to the Atlanta area where she obtained her Georgia real estate license and worked as an Associate Broker until joining the team at Atlanta Deferred Exchange in early 2022. Rebecca loves helping others navigate the ins and out of their 1031 exchanges and takes great pride in listening to the individual needs of each of her clients so they feel supported and comfortable during the exchange process. When not working, Rebecca spends most of her time with her husband of 20+ years and her 3 sons. If she isn’t at a sporting event for her boys cheering them on, she is relaxing at the lake or curling up with a good book.
